Top notch burger patties like you've never had before!
500g turkey mince
2-3 tablespoons avocado oil or ghee
1 tablespoon cocominos
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon hot sauce
1 teaspoon sea salt
1/4 teaspoon cracked black pepper
1/2 teaspoon thyme
1 carrot shredded
1 spring onion, finely chopped (~1/4 cup)
To serve: Lettuce leaves for low-carb "burger buns", tomato slices, Pickles, fried onion, cheese, etc.
Lay out a baking sheet on the bench top
In a large bowl, combine the mince, carrot, spring onion, salt, pepper, thyme, cocominos, sesame oil and hot sauce until well mixed
Form the mixture into small round patties, laying each on the baking sheet for now. The mixture will be rather moist (this is okay), and you will have around 6-8 patties depending on your preferred size
Heat a large pan over medium heat, then add the avocado oil or ghee to coat the bottom of the pan
When the pan is hot, use a spatula to transfer the patties into the pan
Cook on once side until golden brown and crispy, then flip and cook the other side until golden brown and crispy
You can flip the patties several times, continuing to cook until cooked all the way through
Serve on your lettuce leaves with desired toppings!
