Mushroom Sauce

This is SO good on top of steak 🤤


  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil

  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon sea salt

  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon cracked black pepper

  • 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast

  • 400ml can of coconut cream

  • 500g Swiss Brown mushrooms, sliced 1cm thick

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced


  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat

  2. Add the chopped mushrooms

  3. Cook for 5-minutes, stirring occasionally

  4. Add the garlic then cook for a further 5-minutes, stirring occasionally

  5. Once the mushrooms are browned and have shrunken a little, add the salt and pepper, then cook for a further 2-3-minutes

  6. Add the can of coconut cream and nutritional yeast, stirring to mix thoroughly

  7. Let simmer for around 15-20-minutes, until thickened and reduced to your liking
